A coming-of-age, comedy-drama about three African American women living in Brooklyn, Alma's Rainbow explores the life of teenager Rainbow Gold (Victoria Gabrielle Platt) as she enters womanhood and navigates standards of beauty, self-image, and the rights women have over their bodies. Screening as part of the inaugural Sheffield Film Festival.
This screening will feature a special introduction by Asma Kabadeh.
Asma Kabadeh is a creative producer working across arts programming, community development & heritage, and documentary film. She has an extensive background in collaborative arts initiatives, and her work is primarily focused on developing and supporting diverse creative voices across Sheffield.

Sheffield Film Festival is a new annual celebration of the rich film heritage and thriving film culture of Sheffield, and the surrounding region. The inaugural edition will focus on homegrown talent and showcase the continuing contributions of Sheffield-based filmmakers, producers, programmers, academics and cinephiles.
