Welcome to Curious Sources where we’re screening three iconic films that make us CURIOUS; including Magic Mike XXL (2015), Hustlers (2019) and Zola (2020) Looking at curious source material all claiming to be based on true stories; on the surface level these films are described as provocative, sexual, suggestive, and entices people with their explicit nature anpd gyrating forces but underneath they question a more sinister fight for survival and an uneven playing field.

The screenings will be followed by a pop-quiz you didn’t know you needed co-hosting with some of our favourite pop-culture aficionados delving deeper into the allure that is pop culture, as well as discussing social media’s presence in film, sexuality on screen, and the female/male gaze on screen!
