In an ideal world, filmmakers wouldn’t also have to worry about the numbers, but in reality admin, logistics, marketing and fundraising are all part of an artists’ work. For artists and filmmakers feeling overwhelmed by the processes and avenues to secure funding for their work, the most important thing is to gain clarity on guidelines, expectations and crucially, what funders are looking for.
